Fall Protection

Fall Protection

According to Regulation (EU) 2016/425 of the European Parliament and of the Council on personal protective equipment, protective equipment for working at height falls into category III — mortal risks or irreversible damage to health — making it extremely important.

LACUNA offers a complete range of fall protection equipment from the KRATOS SAFETY brand. We also provide training and professional assistance for selecting adequate equipment and for the periodic inspection of fall protection equipment.

Using quality fall protection equipment is a legal obligation and a key component of workplace safety and health. Kratos Safety offers personal protective equipment (PPE) for fall protection:
Safety harnesses, work positioning belts, various types of ropes, energy absorbers (straps and shock-absorbing ropes), fall arrest devices, connectors, and anchorages.

Professional support, training and education

The Lacuna Education Center program includes interactive lectures and workshops, practical demonstrations of protective equipment for working at heights, and advice on selecting equipment according to EN and EN ISO standards and regulations.

With Lacuna OnSite, a fall protection program specialist comes to your location to provide individualized advice and training on equipment for working at heights, or to perform assessments on LIFELINE fixed protection systems.

LIFELINE Systems

LIFELINE Systems

Fixed Lifeline systems provide permanent protection in places where frequent work at height takes place and long-term worker protection is required.

Vertical protection systems enable safe movement in a vertical direction, i.e., climbing or descending. Users are connected to the system with a movable (sliding) device that follows them while they climb and activates on the line if they fall.

Horizontal protection systems protect workers at height and are installed along roofs, in industrial plants, and for the maintenance of high-rise buildings, bridges, etc.

Horizontal systems belong to the collective protection category because they enable protective measures for several people at once on surfaces where there is a risk of falling.

Steps necessary for putting the LIFELINE system into use:

• Location analysis and risk assessment
• System design
• System installation and testing
• User training
• Regular maintenance and periodic inspection.
